Young changemakers can make a big impact at Rady Children’s
Some of the most inspiring supporters of Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego aren’t old enough to drive—but they’re already making a difference. From lemonade stands and birthday fundraisers to donation drives and national campaigns, kids across San Diego are stepping up to help other kids in the Hospital.
Take Landon, for example.
Landon knows first-hand what it’s like to be a patient at Rady Children’s. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020 and spent more than 1,000 days there during treatment. Now 12 and in remission, Landon wanted to give back and help kids facing their own hospital journey—and he got to do so in a big way.
Costco is a long-standing supporter of Rady Children’s and other children’s hospitals across the country. The company occasionally features patient photos and stories on certain products, and a portion of proceeds from those products goes to the patient’s respective hospital. Landon lent his likeness to yogurt products sold in Santee and Poway to raise money for Rady Children’s. He also got to serve as an ambassador and sign autographs in-store.
Getting involved in fundraising is a powerful way for kids to learn about compassion, leadership and the impact of giving back. Whether it’s organizing a small event with friends or rallying classmates for a cause, every effort makes a difference.
