Since 1953, the Silvergate Unit has been committed to helping the patients at Rady Children’s. As the only Emeritus Unit, Silvergate continues to support the good work of the Auxiliary.
Activities over the past 60 years have included a varitey of activities from from being part of the original Thrift House and “the Fair” to Kids’ NewsDay and Fantasy of Trees. Unit members specialized in crafts and were recognized for their needlework and related projects. Fundraising bridge parties also became an important part of their Auxiliary efforts and proved to be almost as popular and successful as thier beaded bags.
The Silvergate Unit is proud to have had a major part in the development of the Mabel Jessop Endowment Fund and its continued growth.
