Investing in the Future of Rady Children’s Neuro-Oncology Program
A neurological tumor is a devastating, nearly unimaginable diagnosis for a child and their family. Despite advances that have improved the overall five-year survival rate, brain and spinal tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children.
With explosive growth in understanding the molecular structure of individual tumors, Rady Children’s is moving ever closer to a precision diagnosis that offers a highly personalized treatment for every child and every tumor type. This is the revolutionary future in the field of neuro-oncology.
Accelerate Promising Collaborative Research
Praveen Raju, MD, PhD, —the Nathan Gordon Chair in Neuro-Oncology and medical director of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program at Rady Children’s—is developing and expanding powerful neuro-oncology investigations by mobilizing existing expertise at Rady Children’s, UC San Diego and local research institutes, and recruiting additional physician-scientists and translational researchers.
We have the vision and opportunity to improve the lives of children who are diagnosed with a pediatric brain or spinal tumor in our community and beyond.
